Rocket Lawyer's $125 Comes With a Membership Attached

$125 a year is what Rocket Lawyer asks for the agent product, and the figure does not budge between membership tiers. Cheapest plan, priciest plan, same $125. No introductory rate that resets on you, no first-year discount engineered to become a second-year surprise.

In this industry that is rarer than it should be. A lot of pages like this one would race past it to get to the criticism. We are putting it in the second paragraph instead.

There is also a genuine platform here. Document templates, attorney consultations, a subscription that covers a decent spread of routine small-business legal work. If you actually open those tools, the money is doing more than one job.

The Catch Is Structural, Not Sneaky

The registered agent piece here is one component of a legal membership rather than a product you can buy by itself. Whether that is a bargain depends completely on you.

Run a Mississippi business that drafts contracts every month and calls a lawyer a couple of times a year? You are getting value the $125 does not capture on its own. Run one that needed a street address on a state record and not one thing more? You are subscribing to a library you will not visit.

Twenty-six dollars a year is the part you can see. The part you cannot see is whatever share of the membership goes unused, and only you can price that.

One State, One Job, One Line on the Invoice

Mississippi's LLC Act is specific about what an agent has to be. Section 79-29-113 requires that the office an agent runs its own business from and the registered office it hands you be one and the same place, physically sitting in this state. Get the replacement signed up before the amendment can name anybody, wait until the state's business search reflects it, and cancel at Rocket Lawyer only then, which keeps your appointment covered end to end.
