$249 a Year for a Mississippi Address

For $99 a year, get a Mississippi agent with a registered address on file, same-day scanning of legal documents, and compliance reminders before state deadlines.

Full disclosure, first line: this is a competitor talking. Mississippi Registered Agent.co charges $99 a year and would like LegalZoom's Mississippi customers to become ours. Weigh our self-assessment accordingly. The LegalZoom price is not an assessment of anything, it is their published number from a July 2026 check, copied straight across.

The Name Is Worth Something

Let us not be silly about this. No brand in this business gets recognized faster. LegalZoom predates most of its competitors and will very likely outlast several of them. That matters more than people admit when you are picking an entity to hold a legal appointment for the life of your company. There is also a real legal operation attached: attorney access, document drafting, trademark work. If you want one vendor covering all of that, LegalZoom is a defensible answer and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

$249, Every Year, On Autopilot

The registered agent price is $249 annually. No starter discount we could find, no cheaper tier, no bundled first year. It renews automatically.

Give them this much: what you see is what keeps getting charged. Plenty of this industry cannot say the same. The problem is not the honesty of the number. The problem is the size of it.

Six hundred dollars over four years. That is the argument.

What You Get From Us for $99

Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.

Speed is the actual product. Something gets served at our Mississippi office, it is scanned into your portal and sitting in your inbox before that business day ends. Your window to answer a lawsuit starts when the server hands the papers over, not when you find out about it, so a day matters.

Then the rest: our address on your state record rather than yours, alerts on state correspondence, one plan at checkout with no upgrade screens, and a flat $15 per item if you want ordinary non-legal mail scanned too. That $15 is the only extra that exists here and we would rather print it than let you meet it on a bill.

Also worth knowing: for a domestic LLC in this state, the annual report itself is free. Zero dollars, due April 15, window opens January 1. No late fee either, but skip it and about sixty days past the deadline the Secretary of State can begin dissolving you administratively. A notice of intent goes out first, § 79-29-217 gives you a window to fix it, and after that the entity is gone. So the thing worth paying for is the reminder, and reminders ride along with the $99. Details on our annual report page.

Not the cheapest, though. BetterLegal advertises $90, below our figure, and we would rather say it than have you find it. Ours lands near the bottom of the flat annual prices in this state and stays put.

Dropping LegalZoom: The Mississippi Filing, Start to Finish

Mississippi is a portal state, and once you know that, most of what national vendors write about switching agents here falls apart.

There is no change-of-agent form. The state's business FAQ addresses this head on, noting that Mississippi stopped maintaining a separate document for the job once the whole system went online more than a decade back. Your agent change is processed as an amendment to your entity record inside the portal at corp.sos.ms.gov. The official fee schedule lists that amendment as F0010 and prices it at $10, handled by the Business Services Division. F0010 is a filing-type code for the state's accounting, not a document with a signature line.

Steps, in order:

  1. Hire the replacement first. Mississippi will not record an appointment the incoming agent has not accepted, so this step comes before all the others. We qualify: physical Mississippi street address, staffed during business hours.
  2. Log in to the portal with the credentials attached to your entity and pull up the record.
  3. Open the amendment for registered agent and registered office, then enter the new name and Mississippi street address.
  4. Pay $10 by card at submission. Mississippi has no expedited tier, and portal filings post fast enough that it does not need one.
  5. Check the business search and confirm the record shows the new agent.
  6. Cancel LegalZoom last. Not before step five.

That last instruction is the only place this can go wrong. LegalZoom remains your agent of record until the state updates the file, so coverage is continuous if you keep the order. Cancel first and your public record points at a company that has stopped working for you, for however long the processing takes.

One more scheduling note, since the $249 renews on its own without asking. File the amendment a few weeks ahead of your renewal date. After the card is charged, you are arguing for a refund instead of just leaving.
